Why so Perfect?

Hello Dearest Viewers!

Welcome to my delightful blog!

Now, as a viewer coming to this blog, I'm sure you might wonder, "Why would she call her plan so perfect? and what does 365 have to do with it?" Well, let me tell you. A few years ago, I had a big life changing event, it "changed my life" (haha, obviously) and the story can be seen on the next tab over called "My Story". I realized that health and wellness is very important to being able to fulfill our purpose here on the earth. I realized that Heavenly Father has made this wonderful world, created us, and put in place the Plan of Salvation all working under true and eternal doctrines and principles. If He lives a life full of these principles, and since our goal is to become like him,....then wouldn't it be a grand idea to also apply these principle into every aspect of our lives?

The most influential thing is a quote from President Boyd K. Packer: “The study of the doctrines of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior.” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1986, 20; or Ensign, Nov. 1986, 17). So if this is true (and I know it is), then why are we all so focused on the behaviors of our lives? Why do we stress and scheme about how to lose weight? getting the best night's rest? earning and saving the most money? all of these are behaviors. Now if we take a different approach to it and "study the doctrines of the Gospel" it will improve these behaviors "quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior." As we apply Heavenly Father's true, eternal, I might even add perfect doctrines to these parts of our lives, as Elder Packer has stated, then we will be able to see real, true change. Not only a change in the behaviors, but a real change in ourselves.

We might just find ourselves becoming more Christlike as we apply the principle of self control to our eating habits. We might just find ourselves developing Christlike character as we apply the principle of agency in dealing with stresses. And we might just find ourselves having less and less overall problems and a smoother and smoother running life as we apply the eternal principles of patience and love in our homes and with ourselves.

Now, I don't know about you, but that sure sounds like a "perfect plan" to me. The best, or most perfect part about it, is that I, or any other human for that matter, DID NOT come up with this plan. It is Heavenly Father's, He has instigated it and hopes that we will be happy and healthy and have a wonderful life, and as we apply these principles.

What music to my ears. How I wish each home had these attributes of less stress, self control, patience, and love, along with other eternal principles....the trouble is that the world around us does not tell us how hard it is to achieve this wonderfullness in our home. There are too many schemes saying "lose 30 lbs in 30 days" or "get rich quick" or "take this pill, it will take all your problems away right now." Satan doesn't want us to work for anything nor develop any good habits; Heavenly Father does. The Father knows that if we apply these principles daily and become someone with His eternal principles embedded in our lives, then this is when miracles occur; lives change; things happen. The trick is that it is not quick, it is something we have to apply every day, or might I say 365 days a year. No one ever read scriptures for 30 days straight and filled their spiritual cup for their life, then why would we think we can do this with weight loss, stress, budgeting, etc?

Heavenly Father's plan is perfect. I am not, but I will try and expound and bring some ideas to your reckoning so we can all share in the journey we are making towards becoming like our Heavenly Father.

Join me on the journey of applying His Perfect Plan 365 days of the year!

While I do not proclaim to know "the secret to life," nor do I represent the official views of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, some of the quotes, views, opinions, and statistics I share on this blog do come from: The Standard Works, words of the Prophets, Peer Reviewed Journal Articles, and top level classes at BYU. Then through all of my studying and training, I bring you my own interpretation of the information.

Disclaimer #2: While I do believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and repentance and moving forward, I will still share the events of the past, repented of, not apart of me anymore, for the purpose of helping you understand more fully where I am coming from.

Disclaimer #3: While I am connecting me losing weight to being a spiritual experience for me, I do understand that weight, size, eating, etc. is not in the temple recommend questions. I do not look down upon, nor consider it sinning to eat or look differently than I do. I love everyone, and hope that everyone reading this can improve in some way.

Disclaimer #4: While I do profess to know more than the "internet truths" floating around, what I share is not perfect. I do though, study these things out thouroughly. I make sure and only share things that have been proven through many, many, many peer-reviewd, very trusted studies. I WILL not share something that is just a hear say, or only shared once, or a fluke study.  With that said, it could still be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge it is as good as we are going to get.
