it was easter and general conference this weekend, but also....
Enya's 6 year birthday!!! well...sorta
My first lesson ever with my trainer we went to Enya Lin's house. She had her first lesson with the missionaries, and I heard her say her first prayer ever. She knew she wanted an eternal family and so she progressed nicely and got baptized april 4. 2009!
Then guess what??? Her husband (who she was sealed to in the temple a few years ago), got into an "american college" that is only an hour away from me!! How random that we both moved here to this area last spring! So, we decided with the weekend off, we wanted to spend it with her and her husband watching conference and it happened to be her 6 year "baptism" birthday!!!!
I feel so blessed to even have known her at all, and that she is now fulfilling her dream of an eternal family, and that God blessed us to be living only an hour apart!!
So...Easter was fun! Eli did great at his egg hunts!
We were surprised that he actually knew how to pick up the egg and put it in the basket then carry his basket around. He just had a hard time finding the egg unless it was 1 foot away. But he was sooooo cute #imightbeobsessed!
But before all that. We watched General Conference. It was amazing! I love hearing from the living prophets and apostles! If you missed it, no worries #wedontworrybro you can rewatch it here
This is what we looked like at our home:

So, we dont have a TV. When nate and i got married we both didnt want one, so we dont have one. #plainandsimple
but we have 2 *amazing* computers that are on their death beds. but you cant buy something new til the old one don't work, right?? #moneypinchershere
So, this one always has to be plugged in, and since it overheats we put it on this nice stand that i found at a garage sale once, and for movie night or general conf we just move our couch over in front of it ;) #wethriveonghetto #iguess #we'lllaughatourselvesinafewyears
Anyway, conference was great!!! Eli sat through all of General conference!!! #angelchild
Ok, just kidding. He did pretty well, but we had some entertaining to do. Enya is much nicer than we are and let him play with her phone
Sunday, we made the *long* voyage to Nate's Aunt's house! #easterisfamilytime
it was awesome there too! #forgottotakepictures
but besides that, we learned so much. there were a lot of talks that inspired us!
Nate and I discussed it a lot, and we know that everyone feels there is a different "theme" because the Spirit speaks differently to everyone. BUT we felt like there were a lot of talks about family. #proclamationtotheworld20yranniversary
It was nice to have some nudges in the right way but also confirmations that our family, although "imperfect," is doing great. That we are establishing a home centered on Christ, and that although we have many weaknesses, we are on the right path. I know the Spirit will also testify to you of the good things your family is doing, if you only ask! (the Spirit doesnt always tell us what to change, but helps us know where we are doing well. I think as women, we need to tune into that voice more!!)

I love your ghettoness! I always joke (but not really:) that everything in our home has a heritage- take our couch for instance. It once belonged to someone, who left it one their curb for the garbage man, then it was found by my sister Rach and her husband, after they were done with it, we got, and have enjoyed it for 8 years! What a legacy! (and to think someone was going to get ride of it over 10years ago!) What were they thinking! I also loved conference and def have to go back and re watch it. I felt the theme was have faith through trials and stand fast. Great talks, as always!
