So, I'm going to be real with you...today is this kind of day:
#herestobeingreal
yes, new packages opened but not put away #hoorayforfreebreastpumps #hoorayforgooddealsonnewinfantcarseats
yes, old pile of mail
yes, old pile of to-do things from last week
yes, dishes
yes, stain removing clothes from days ago #iwonderifitwillstillcomeout
yes, food still out from earlier #iwonderifitsbadyet
yes, I am washing clothes again because i didn't switch them over from eli's blow out the other day
So....a few weeks ago, I got this urge to travel. So nate and I looked up how much it would cost to fly to see my family...um, too expensive. Then we looked at how much it would cost for him to drive out with me and him fly home and me drive home later...still a lot,, and its too hard to go places without nate these days because it hurts so bad for me to walk around aka chase eli in un-child proof places. So, we decided to contact our closest family and friends in the area and make an easter trip...you can see the wonderfulness of that on yesterday's post.
The weekend was so fun, but after every "fun" event, i am out of commission for like days because of my hips hurting. So, yesterday and today were just chill #backtochairrest (minus my 38 week appt with my midwives that went super well! #yayforhealthymomandbabysofar). But i just don't want to walk around to clean everything up #eventhougheliistakinganice3hournap #soijustsatoutinthesunandread
anyway....enough of that stuff! how about what else is happening! #theinevitable
I am getting an outie bellie button!!!...no pictures, sorry! So, you know how there are things in life that you know are going to happen and you're fine with them, but there are things that you are like scared of?
for example, I am super excited to have white hair when i'm old! I mean, have you seen the temple workers? they look so cute and super celestial! BUT...i am not excited about how our ears and nose keep growing, so white hair...ok. big nose, not ok. but both will happen :S #eek
that's like pregnancy. weight gain...ok. having to sleep with 5 pillows...whatevs. waddling...bring it on. outie belly button, something inside me just urks. I mean, its cute on everyone else, just not this belly for some reason. so, when you see me next, don't comment on my belly or belly button.
what else is happening?
despite me trying to be a perfect mom #okjustkidding #itryashardasthenextmom BUT i do have this theory about food and children. You see, when i was in china and taiwan the kids ate the grossest stuff, but i realized that they liked it because they never had other options, and so they ate what their parents gave them #fishheads #chickenfeet #shrimpcrackers #imnotjoking #itsnormaltothem
Anyway, so i was like: if i never take off eli's crusts and don't feed him white bread, he'll just eat normal whole wheat bread with the crusts, just like we do....but no! #theinevitable
he peels off his crusts and throws them. so, i don't feel like i failed, it was just a matter of time i guess. BUT he still loves and eats his whole wheat bread! woohoo #triumpthfornowatleast
What else is happening??
I have finally totally lost my brain! #theinevitable
seriously! you should live with me. I mean, I need another brain here!
the other night, we were playing a game and I...could...not...figure out what 7+7 was. seriously, i had to count on my fingers. That's when I knew i had lost it.
(despite other incidents of putting in some toast for eli, and then leaving the house without it, or just putting "picture" on one of my blog posts last week and forgetting to actually put a picture....this moment is when i knew i had lost it!)
So despite #theinevitable things happening and my house being a mess.....we will still have a wonderful day! Nate got off a little early tonight so he is playing with the little munchkin outside while i finish dinner #andthispost
I hope you have a great day too, despite whatever your house looks like or belly for that matter!
what inevitable things have happened to you lately??

Hey Jessica!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog! Yay! And now I can see that you actually started it in 2011- so it took me a while to find my way here, but I made it! I love it here- such a great place to be! Thank you for embracing life in all of its reality. I feel like you have created a 'safe zone', where you can be less than perfect, wherever you are in life, and improve from there. (Just like they talked about in General Conference!) I can't wait to read more!
Thanks Angela! I have tried to make a place where people can come and laugh and also feel enlightened on spiritual and temporal subjects! i try really hard to be "real" because I feel like we get enough "fake" and seemingly perfect moms out there. So i dont take a million pictures to get the right one and i post real life :) I hope you enjoy! So glad you found me :) #joyinperfectimperfections
