Yesterday was....interesting
First off....I had a lot of errands to do yesterday...no big deal right?
Remember my ghetto car? Yeah, the one where we almost die of heat stroke every time we get in it? I basically live with a rats nest of hair because I have to drive with the windows down.
Well, Jess, why don't you turn on the AC?
Broken! and its $1100 to fix...remember how we bought the car for $500??
Oh yeah, but why dont you just roll down the back windows?
Broken! They used to fall out on their own, so they had to screw them permanently open. Gah-het-tow!!! #thatmeansultraghetto
Ok, so why is this such a big deal?
UM.....hello!!! its like a million degrees in the car, and everything to preggo me is +15 degrees=1,000,015 degrees!!...plus Eli gets so hot he is always super sweaty when we get out. So I can't stand having the next 3 months of me being oooober hot and eli basically dying...then what about when our sweet baby gets here? he'll like shrivel up back there! no way!
Ok, so what are you going to do?
Well, we are going to have Nate drive the car to work from now on! And I get to drive the other...nice, new 2007 edition!! what! what!
No way, so you get to drive a luxury car?
Heck yes! You guys, when I drive it, it really feels like im in a million bucks. It doesnt take forever to speed up (i think people think im a grandma or something in the old car), and it has AC and a radio/CD player! basically, luxury vehicle!!
So why didn't you already switch it??
Well, here's the story of what happened yesterday:
So, spiritual nate wants to go to the temple after work yesterday (long story, but i went already while nate watched eli outside the temple, but because of traffic he didnt have time to go in #hegetsmanypointsforthat). And sweet nate doesnt like going the whole day without seeing me, so we plan a dinner date near his work, so we could eat and he'll head to the temple. #hessucharomantic! What we didnt realize is that I had too many errands for that poor little car to handle that day. I got back from getting my Walmart to-go order and we had to leave ASAP to get to nate on time. The car did not start the first few times I tried..but then it did, so we went on our merry little way. We even got to Chipotle and it did fine, but afterwards....no no! So, we called up Geico (you guys, did you know you can save 15% in 15 mins...haha jk...but we really do have geico, and since the car is so ghetto, we have roadside assistance on it so nate can know im in good hands if it ever dies on me :)
Anyway, we set everything for the tow truck to come, and then we try the car one more time and luckily it starts. Phew! I almost died on the way home following nate and trying to call geico to cancel the towtruck #dontdriveandtalk #ortextforthatmatter
Then we got home safe and sound and nate went to the temple. Then when he got home at 10pm, he even brought in all the groceries, and sat and listened to me talk because I need to talk to someone when ive been at home all day #momlife #isnthethesweetest
#okenoughwiththemushy
Now, the car is just taking a vaca outstide my apartment today (we thought we'd give it a day off to think about what it almost did to us)....so now I'm home bound today #feelfreetostopby
So, we'll switch it tomorrow and then ill be driving the pride of the town! :)
Anyway...that was our adventure yesterday. and sorry about all the mushy stuff with nate, he just is so nice to me, i cant hold it in!
Here's a challenge for you: think about what your spouse loves. then plan a way to do it! I mean, does he love when you have the house clean? dinner done? get ready for the day? not unload on him when he gets home? taking a vacation? having a fun date night?? does he like flowers? ok, maybe another gift?
Anyway...go ahead. do it! he'll love it and you'll love it ;)
